Not long after Raymond Weil watches were first established, Weil's son-in-law Olivier Bernheim joined the family business in 1982. Together, Weil and Bernheim ensured the watches being produced were novel in concept and design, with quality always the primary goal.
Early successes in the 1980s included two collections influenced by Weil's love of classical music, Amadeus and Fidelio. The company's tenth anniversary was marked by the Othello collection, which combined avant-garde technology with refined design, while the decade was rounded off with the launch of the innovative Traviata range.
The beginning of the 1990s saw the launch of what remains one of the company's most popular collections, Parsifal. These gents and ladies watches marked a new step in Raymond Weil's approach to luxury watches, combining high quality materials with mechanical complications, and have just recently celebrated their 20th year as an iconic addition to the family of Raymond Weil watches.
Meanwhile, the mid-90s saw the first Tradition and Tango watches released to great acclaim, and the establishment of the R&D department, ensuring the company's commitment to an innovative future remains as important as its rich heritage.
The new millennium continued Raymond Weil watches' long list of successes, Bernheim's two sons joining the company and taking the company into its third full decade as a renowned manufacturer of Swiss watches. 2002 introduced the fully mechanical Don Giovanni Grande collection, another firm favourite even today, and ladies-own range Shine was a hit in 2005. The Nabucco collection followed in 2007, providing collectors with a mechanical watch with 200m water resistance and integrated high-tech carbon fibre material; the same year gave us the Freelancer collection and saw Raymond Weil receive the '2007 Industry Award' from the State of Geneva.
The brand manufacturers their luxury timepieces from their headquarters in Switzerland, where the most famous watchmakers made their name. Their designs are well thought out and luxurious in a way the exudes timeless grace. The line is not cheap, yet their collections are not overpriced either. The moderately priced watches are high on style. A few of their most popular collections are the Don Giovanni, the Nabucco Rivulzione, and the Freelancer. They are responsible for creating a few limited edition watches, as well like the Nabucco Cuore Caldo, but for the most part their business is made up from traditionally elegant pieces like those from their RW Sport, Othello, and Tradition lines. Of course, Raymond Weil makes women's watches, as well. The Shine, Parsifal, Tango, and Noemia collections are highly popular and really well made women's timepieces.
One of my most favorite is from the Shine collection. The RW Women's Shine watch #1800STI05383 is at the top of my list. This women's timepiece is great, because it comes with a luxurious white strap that looks wonderful for summer. The dial is embellished with diamonds and so is the bezel. The elongated rectangular face is ergonomically designed to fit the curve of my wrist for a comfy fit. I love the white dial and the artistically designed diamond numbers that adorn the quarter hour settings. This watch also comes with a polished steel bracelet, but I think the white leather is just perfect for this season. raymond weil watches, Raymond Weil Watches - Parsifal Precision, Raymond Weil Watches - Parsifal Precision
Coming up with new ideas year after year and trying to satisfy customers is far from an easy challenge. But Raymond Weil has been able to do so with the four facets they focus on. Between independence, aestheticism, creativity, and watch-making, Raymond Weil timepieces have continued to impress buys worldwide.

Famous Swiss watch maker Raymond Weil has unveiled its latest addition, the freelancer rose gold date chronograph, to its well-received freelancer mechanical line. The brand-new watch with modern sophisticated appearance and reliable functions represents the brand's endless pursuit for perfection, innovation and uniqueness in the watch-making world.
Of all the variety of fine watches out there, sports watches are probably the most popular, versatile, and objectively useful. Many people (especially the types who can afford luxury products) are very committed to maintaining an active, adventurous lifestyle.
Though there are many types, colors, styles, and builds of sports watches, a physically active person has to hunt for the right watch that will be a good fit for them. One thing to take into consideration is the extent to which a watch is waterproof- someone who can't swim will have different needs from a diver, a kayaker, or a deep-sea diver. Another important aspect is altitude- a pilot has very different needs from a mountain climber who has different needs from someone who lives in the Los Angeles basin. So whether worn on land, sea, or air, sports watches sport (excuse the pun) different features and technologies to accommodate.
For example, since most divers only descend to specific depths, the extent to which a watch is waterproof and can resist the pressure of the ocean varies from 10 feet to 660. Some watches even requires something called a crown winder button in order to activate the waterproofing function. Many Omega watches, for example, demonstrate this function. Another aspect of sports watches is whether or not they have glowing parts- a spelunker would have no use for a watch that didn't include a light or at least some luminescent markers, while a hiker may find such things superfluous.
Also, some sports rely heavily on stopwatch capability, which some watches can provide. Chronographs have several subdials to keep track of different increments of time, including, sometimes, a stopwatch. Some sports watches will include many different timers and alarms, and some come equipped with pedometers to track footsteps.
For the seamen and sailors among us, many sports watches have compasses built in, and a tidegraph subdial that can be used to track the tides in dozens of cities the world over.
All of this variety and all of these wonderful, useful, and whimsical functions are not the only attractive thing about owning a sports watch- many are made with the same high level of craftsmanship and beauty as other luxury watches, with special styles and bands that can be worn even to the highest class occasion. The Tag Heuer Aquaracer, for example, is a gorgeously crafted watch with all the precision, durability, and function of a sports watch.
Sports watches are also very popular because they come in a wider range of prices than do many straight luxury watches. TAG watches, for example, tend to be less ostentatious and more reasonably prices than, say, a Rolex.
